Sustainability
A Greener Port
In all our operations, we operate with a sense of responsibility towards society and the environment. Our sustainability policy ensures we minimize our environmental impact and prioritize occupational health and safety across all our processes.
Our Sustainability Approach
In all our operations, we act with the knowledge of our responsibilities to society and nature. Zero waste and climate change are crucial for a sustainable world, and we have obtained a "Zero Waste Certificate" for our facility to minimize our environmental impact as the biggest container port in the Aegean Region.
Our sustainability strategy is designed in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Sustainability Principles Compliance Framework set by the Capital Markets Board (CMB), GRI standards, and stakeholder expectations.
Our top priority is the occupational health and safety of our employees. To achieve this, we use the best equipment and tools available. We provide regular occupational health and safety training and take comprehensive protective measures against possible risks. We prioritize using eco-friendly machinery and equipment in all our operations to reduce our environmental impact. We continuously strive for improvement and development with our port construction, designed according to occupational safety requirements.

Sustainable Development Goals
The 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aim to address the world's main challenges, including urgent action to combat climate change.
SOCAR Terminal is committed to supporting the SDGs with great dedication, recognizing that we are all responsible for climate change. We are moving towards a sustainable future by integrating environmentally friendly processes and equipment into our port operations.
What We Do
Protecting Biodiversity and Natural Habitats
We support the conservation of biodiversity and natural habitats through our projects and practices to combat climate change and contribute to environmental and climate performance while achieving energy and resource savings. In our environmental and coastal cleaning activity, we collected approximately 5 tons of waste and saved 169 MW of electricity and 449 kg of greenhouse gas emissions.
OHS-E Practices
We strive to maintain the highest occupational health and safety standards under the Integrated Management System. This includes ongoing efforts to achieve certification for ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, Covid-19 Safe Service Certificate, and Green Port certification.
SOCAR Volunteers
We collaborate with SOCAR Volunteers, a group that includes employees of SOCAR Türkiye group companies, to develop social responsibility projects. The platform, consisting of approximately 500 people, consists of 6 teams that operate in the fields of education, environment, health, sports, animal protection, and social issues.
